Two years in the making, she definitely credits Fairmont as the capitol for the roll, and Bob and Carol Green. Chuck and Carol Reese; Pepperoni roll winners Traveling Trophy: Tea Time Bakery: Westover; Rick K and the All-Nighters. Bob Sapp (president of Board of Directors) is introduced, announces that Tea Time Bakery won two Pepperoni Roll Bakeoff Contest, and comments that Markay Media was employed for PBS to film for the show, "Chef's Life," staring Vivian Howard, that will air in the fall of 2018

03:00     Bonding Mental and Substance Use Disorder Treatment & Recovery Services
Many efforts are underway to build a behavioral health system that enables Americans to find effective and collaborative treatments and services in their communities for mental and/or substance use disorders. Panelists will discuss some of the challenges with integration at the federal, state, and local levels and discuss the benefits and successful outcomes when integration is embraced. In addition, panelists will discuss the findings and recommendations of the 2016 Surgeon General's report, Facing Addiction In America: The Surgeon General's Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health.

03:59     City Council: 05/23/17
Pay plan for City Employees approved. It involves an increase in shift differential and certification pay for steelworkers union employees, a $3,000 base pay increase in the salary for probationary firefighters, a $2,000 pay increase for firefighter apprenticeship I and II, a $930 base pay increase for firefighters and the creation of officer-in-charge pay within the fire department, a $1,500 base pay increase for utility assistance supervisors and one additional position - environment technician pretreatment coordinator, a $8,070 base pay increase for the position of information technology technician and a 1-percent base pay increase for all employees. Council also unanimously adopted a resolution that endorses the 25th anniversary celebration sponsored by the Fairmont Community Development Partnership to be held Sept. 30 in the historic district. Finally, they adopted a resolution that approves the next step for HOPE's renovations and upgrade at the former Lt. Harry B. Colborn U.S. Army Reserve Center

Council approved demolition of building on Wiley St., granting right of way located perpendicular to Westview Drive, adopting a resolution that endorses the Homebrewers Against Hunger event sponsored by the Fairmont Homebrewers Club to be held on Sept. 23 at Palatine Park. They also heard from George Batten of Union Mission on treatment of the homeless in Fairmont area and also from Lee Ann Jones discussing the meeting and attempts to assist the homeless in Fairmont's "tent city." City Manager Robin Gomez gave a lengthy response to the issue, discussing Fairmont's position and what they were trying to do

First done in the 1970's by Fran Perry, whose father Joe started the Mission, this film is very significant as it shows the early history of Fairmont and the development of the Mission as it served the disadvantaged in the area. This is the best amateur produced video ever run on TV19.
