Choir sings anthems "Come, Children of Zion," from May 1 & "Little Lamb, Little Innocent Lamb" from May 8th and Maundy Thursday selection. Church sings a Mother's Day hymn "Come, Sing Praises to our Mother," to the tune of "Love Divine All Love Excelling" and "Sing of One who Stands Beside us" from May 1. The Disciples Women's Group hosts a Fiesta on May 14th. We talk to Carol Anne Simonyi on her many activities and hear "The Gift of Love" by her on flute and her dad on piano. We talk with Ruth Stockwell, DWF President and Lane Simonyi about the Secret Sisters program. Texie Wells discusses children and youth programs.

The May episode May 2016 is Criminal Justice System Involvement: The Role of Mental or Substance Use Disorders. Many individuals who come in contact with the criminal or juvenile justice system have a mental or substance use disorder. This show will focus on the involvement of adults and young people with mental or substance use disorders in the criminal justice system and the unique treatment and support services needed to help them achieve the ingredients for lifelong recovery-health, home, purpose, and community. Discussion will focus on re-entry into the community, and panelists will examine efforts and resources to provide treatment and recovery support to individuals who are released from incarceration (e.g., help with accessing benefits, including health care through the Affordable Care Act; linkage to treatment providers and peer-support groups; job placement, training, education; and stable housing).
