Robert Branham, 201st Field Artillery; Tyson Furgason: Principal, Fairmont Senior; Jasmine Bruce, dance; Melinda Bibbee, mother of Channing Michael who raised money for the Foundation and donated her birthday money. Scenes of the event are shown as the Christian Love Ministries singers perform.

Marion County United Way Program with the WVU BB Team held its 8th Clinic for the children of Marion County on Aug. 13, 2015. Players & staff who attended were Nathan Adrian, Brandon Watkins, Elijah Macon, James "Beetle" Bolden, Jevon Carter, Lamont West, Esa Ahmad, Logan Routt, Jay Kuntz (coordinator of WVU Player Development) and Coach Eric Martin. Players interviewed were Adrian, Watkins, Macon, "Beetle" Bolden, Routt, Jay Kuntz (coordinator of WVU Player Development) and Coach Eric Martin. Parents talked to were Julie Minnocci and Curtis Yoak and three boy and girls while eating pizza. Nicky Osbourne, Marion County United Way Executive Director, finishes the program with her thoughts

Five persons are interviewed with classic cars; Bruce Sayre (1949 Ford two-door), Ron Matheny (1968 Nova SS), Nick Fantasia (1976 BMW 2002), George Bogdanish (1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport), and Tim Rager (1923 Ford T-Bucket). Mr. Keener's 1960 El Camino is shown and described by Nick Fantasia.

Greater Fairmont Council Churches service at Palatine Park Sept. 1st on the Care of Creation for Earth, based upon the Pope's encyclical. Participants read scripture, sing, bring a meditation, and receive seeds to commemorate the day

Porter discusses his cd Happy and a song he wrote entitled, "Monongahela." Dreisinger discusses his life and the influence of Jim Priester plus the unique story of Dr. Wang.

Dancing with the stars features dances Chad Fowler and Christine Lavorata, Jim Chadwell and Marlena Mazza, Rob Linger and Nikka Bowman, Matt Delligatti and Peggy Coster, Todd Anderson and Holly Kauffman. Last year the event raised $23,000 that was split between United Way & the Marion County Chamber of Commerce. Robert Mild of the Fairmont State faculty and Gretchen Ross from WBOY were hosts. Judges were Dr. Rosemary Thomas, Alan B. Mollohan, and Brian Faulkner. The choreographers were Eileen and Arthur Frank, Natalia Krimmel, Jackie Hammond, Olivia Bowen, and Teresa Sestito.

Morgantown song writer and composer Paul Ragland performs a song he wrote for Labor Day as DD Meighen sets it to video. Ragland uses Lectionary Texts for the Christian year to write his songs of faith and social concerns

Highlights of the Community Correction Roundtable hosted by Judge Michael Aloi and led by US Senator Joe Manchin was held at the County Courthouse. Various Professional Counselors, Doctors, Law Enforcement, and Community members spoke or asked questions on the issue. Invited panelists who spoke were Ted Offutt- Day Report Director; William J. Ihlenfield II, US Attorney for Northern WV; Travis Zimmerman- former Adult Drug Court Probation Officer; Dr. James Namsupak, General Practice, John Manchin Senior Health Care Center; Dr. Ron Pierce, psychologist; Randy Elliot, President Marion County Commission; Dr. Kenneth Hilsbos, Hilsbos Family Care; and Suzan Williamson, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Resident Agent in Charleston, West Virginia. Comments were made by recovery person Sara and Ashley. Comments from the audience included Chris Mullett of the Clarksburg Mission, Renee Verbanic of Project Success Inc., Business Owners, Parents, Pharmacy Student, Peggy Coster of FRMC, Delegate Tim Manchin, D.D. Meighen, Walter Cooley, State Police, and Dr. Joe Shelby of the WVU Family Medical Center. Main essence of the meeting was comment by Judge Aloi to Senator Manchin: "We treat addiction as a crime and not a disease and made a business from it."

Highlights include passing of various ordinances: Vacant Building Registration Program, Inter governmental Agreement Between The City Of Fairmont And The Marion County Commission, home rule provisions related to elimination of certain B & O taxes, sale of products, the imposition of a 1% Consumers Sales and Service Tax & a Complimentary Use Tax. There was no naming of a City Manager after coming out of Executive Session.

Highlights include requests from Fairview for a Water Truck from Heather Tutttle, Vice Mayor & City Clerk; Cecily Enos for a new YWCA furnace, letting out of bids at Palatine Park to Huffman Corporation by Charlie Reese, and Chris McIntire on securing hazard mitigation money to relocate persons from the flood plain areas of Marion County.

Highlights include public comments on America's Best Communities from Kate Greene, Main Street Executive; Ben Berry, Mountain Craft Productions; Rocco Fucillo, state, corporate and local relations official at WVU; Carrie Staton, Development Research Collaboration Manager @ WV Redevelopment Collaborative at WVU; and Amy Pellegrin, Director of Marketing & Branding, FSU. Russell Bolyard, Merit Development, Assistant Manager, and Robert "Buck" Thompson spoke for the rezoning land along Speedway for development. Many public hearings on Home Rule were approved: (1) Authorizing the City Manager to submit All Necessary Documents for TIFF (Tax Increment Financing) to The WV Development Office. Amy Jones spoke on harassment she experienced from a person driving a city truck that resulted in a broken foot for the victim. The incident will be reviewed and appropriate action will follow, according to the mayor.

Squires Lifetime Achievement Award: Project Graduation Chairman's Award: (7) Dr. Maria Rose, President of Fairmont State University: (8) President's Award, Aladdin Food Services.
