Travel to Taylor County as we meet the Bradford family and their very special caring for and adopting children. Karen Shriver of the Burlington Child Care Center is our host.

This program taped in Charleston shows Dora Kay receiving her medal of honor.

8:28 am - MCHS - Restored Melodeon Pump Organ - Jan. 22
Program presented at Historical Society features the Dodds as reenacting the Pierponts as we hear about the Organ that was used in the early history of the church and town

Among issues in this segment are identity theft, green tea, age appropriate toys, fire hazards, reducing heating costs, burning calories, tech talk, money management, entertaining oddities (words). An example is “Underground” is the only word in the English language that begins and ends with the letters “und” and no words rhyme with orange, silver, purple, or month.

9:30 am - Sr. Basketball Semi and Finals 2/19/2011
St. Anthony defeated the Fountain of Life Church 79-46 for the championship of the Senior Division of the Greater Fairmont Council of Churches Basketball League Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Fairmont State Recreational Center. Woody Taylor led all scorers with 29 points while Marcus Jacquez and Alex Joseph both collected 14 markers. Ross Dalton chipped in with 11 markers for St. Anthony. Leading scorers for the Fountain of Life were Tre Kerns with 14 and Kenny Underwood with 9 points. Matt Dublin coaches St. Anthony while Corey Hines coaches Fountain of Life. St. Anthony advanced to the finals by defeating Bethesda Baptist 43-31 while Fountain of Life defeated Morningstar Baptist 48-44 in the semi-finals. The finals of the Junior Division will be held this evening, Monday, at Central Christian (Disciples of Christ) church on Big Tree Drive at 7:45 p.m. A 3 point shootout Championship will occur at 7:00 p.m. There will be two semi- final games prior to the shootout that will determine the final teams. A banquet honoring the teams and players and coaches will be held next Sunday with Fairmont State’s Basketball Coach Tim Murphy being the guest speaker. The director for the Senior League is Sharon Buonaiuto. Highlights of the Semi-Finals and the Final game will be shown on TV19 in April.

10:29 am - Jr. Basketball Semi Finals & Finals 2/21/2011
The Jr. League Basketball league semi finals features Walnut Grove playing Tree of Life team No. 4 and then the two Tree of Life teams playing in the finals. In between the games comes the three point shootout. The camera’s video heads broke during the shoot, so portions of the semi-final game as well as introduction of players did not correctly record.

5 groups compete in the first NAACP Sing Off held Sat. March 27, 2011. Groups participating were Mt. Zion Mens Baptist Choir, Morningstar Mens Chorus, Chosen to Worship Praise Team and Singers, and the Caffee Sisters.

This program Rev. Patty discusses some of the unique programs his church is providing for the community. Among those are a “Faith and Film” Festival, History of the Faith from Bethlehem to Fairmont, and gym use.
