7:29 am - FSHS LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP
On May 16, 2009 the Fairmont Senior High Girls defeated Morgantown High School for their second straight state Lacrosse championship. The contest is shown almost in its entirety with introduction of players, singing of the National Anthem, and presentation of trophy at the conclusion of the game.

Beautiful backlay of music compliments the faith in action video without words.

11:07 am - LETTERMAN’S ATHLETIC BANQUET
Highlights of the evening include before the Banquet interviews with Duane Cochran, Fairmont Times-West Virginian reporter, Women Basketball Coach, Steve McDonald, Athletic Director “Rusty” Elliott, academic and community athletes Jamal Womble, Gerod Green, and Kristy Rausch. Green and Rausch interviews done on the track and softball field. Because of the wonderful help from Adam Zundell, director of athletic media relations and marketing, we were able to post pictures from the banquet and include the following talks: Coach Bob Huggins, Buck Thompson, Jack Reagan, Rausch and Womble. Closing comments were given by Rusty Elliott and Charles Reese

This short 3 minute highlight prepares the viewers for more to come in the following month of an alumni game for a great cause, uniting many former or present Marion Countians in a traditional game that was as strong as the Fairmont West-East rivalry. This game will be broadcast on both TV19 and 18.

3:00 pm - LIBRARY: JOHN CUMMINGS
John Michael Cummings discuses his new book, “The Night I Freed John Brown” An excellent speaker, his novel shares much about his home and family life in and around Harper’s Ferry and the life and sacrifices made in order to write this novel.

4:00 pm - CROP WALK
The annual CROP Walk to benefit world and local hunger projects was held the first Sunday in May, starting at East West Stadium. Sponsored by the Greater Fairmont Council of Churches, it provides both a healthy and monetary approach to assist those who have little health or food or are in need of one or both.

4:22 pm - DISABILITY ACTION CENTER DEDICATION
Held April 30, 2009, the dedication of the old Fairmont Bowling Center and formerly Webster’s College has been made over as a result of a free gift from brothers George and Herman Haupstein. The dedication service is shown in its entirely with participation from recipients of service, politicians, and board members.

5:08 pm - SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics of Marion County was taped at North Marion High School. It featured interviews with April Kaull and Coach Mike Lopez of Fairmont State Football Team, students from West Fairmont and North Marion as well as John Petrucci. The opening ceremony is covered and portions of a few of the games.

This special assistance program, organized by Faith United Methodist in Fairmont and shared by Central Untied Methodist and Fleming Memorial Presbyterian, shows volunteer work being done at American Red Cross, Child’s Advocacy Center, Try-Again Homes, and Salvation Army Thrift Shop.
