Dora Conaway Reese and Charles Nallen hosts the awards and prizes following supper; Dora Conaway Reese narrates the wonderful Fashion Show of the latest in men and women fashions.

8:55 am - Board of Education Meeting: May 19, 2008
Policies are discussed by Kim Wade, treasurer and Tom Diedrick, assistant superintendent and some comments are made by Board Members on the failure of the bond to pass.

10:15 am - AARP special Program hosted by Eric Wells
Legislation in WV is discussed as well as identity theft.

10:44 am - I Am R. T. Webb
This special Power Point traces the life of the minister of Williams Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church, South who agreed to host the First Fathers Day Service in America, July 5, 1908 in Fairmont.

11:03 am - I Am Fletcher Golden
This Power Point traces the life of the “Father who inspired Father’s Day.” Rev. Golden was the father of Grace Golden Clayton whose inspiration led to the first service 100 years ago this year, on July 5, 1908.

11:26 am - CROP Walk
This walk to benefit Church World Hunger is sponsored by the Greater Fairmont Council of Churches. We walk the route, talking to some of the participants and viewing some of the sights along the way. The coordinator of the event, Rev. Scott Ingleton is interviewed as well as the Police Reserve and the “Blister Bus”.

11:46 am - 3 Rivers Parade
This parade held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 is shown in its entirety. Highlights include the Clydesdale Horses and the Oscar Mayer Weimer Mobile. Bands from East and West Fairmont are shown, 3 Rivers Participants and Beauty Queens.

12:34 pm - 3 Rivers Educational Day
2 Events are shown from the Carnegie Science Center: Fractured Physics is presented at Parables Limited Place on Monroe St. as students learn about the laws of physics. The second is the “Weather Game: Hurricane or Tornado” presented at the Fairmont Elks Club.

1:00 pm - 3 Rivers Palatine Park
Highlights include the illusion of Josh Knotts from Weirton who is on a national tour; the lady who drives the Oscar Mayer Weiner mobile, and one of the 6 trainers who handle the Clydesdales.

1:34 pm - Project Graduation
4 Hours of Taping are condensed into this 50 minute program. Special interviews with Gary and Roberta Steele. Roberta has been the coordinator for the past 12 years. Students from the various schools are interviewed. Games are shown and prizes are viewed. Singing is shown and people at the Concession Booth and the 3 different schools are interviewed. However, some mistakes were made and the interviews with West and East Fairmont support staff was not taped.

2:25 pm - 1999 FSHS Percussion Ensemble
Former band director Barry Vingle directs this ensemble in national performance action in 1999.

The Middle School Program on May 8 portrays the excellence of band and choral performances of our Middle and High School Students. In addition the information and material presented by teachers, parents, and the speakers were well worth noting, remembering and showing.

This short 10 minute meeting is shown on pre primary night.

5:00 pm - Sen. Hillary Clinton in Fairmont – 5/12/08
Senator Clinton coming to Fairmont was a big event and her speech and some of the highlights from that evening are shown.

5:50 pm - Primary Election Night
The Process and results of Election Night are featured in this half hour program.

6:17 pm - Twelfth St. Pool
12th St. Pool story traces the history of the Pool over the past year and a half. From the beginning proposal to City Council by Alan Parks to views of construction in January of 2008 and finally the discussion of the pool and showing its renovated state, this 28 minute clip shows the dedication of the County Commission and particularly Commissioner Parks.

6:45 pm - Pancake
The Pancake "Shrove" Tuesday event of the Episcopal Church is footage from February that was mislaid but discovered recently. This is one of the most visible and long standing traditions of Fairmont and well worth showing.

6:50 pm - Larry Groce
Larry Groce, moderator of "Mountain Stage," sings this song he wrote for the Blueprint Communities of West Virginia in February of 2007. I believe it is destined to be a song for all times. The Fairmont South Side Community is a participating partner of the Blueprint community.
